What we do

Since 1960 we have been dedicated to raising funds to enrich the quality of life for children and adults living with intellectual disabilities and mental health challenges.

Funds raised are distributed through the Better Life Fund and are used to continuously improve the standard of care for each and every individual availing of our wide range of services in Ireland and abroad.

Day Services

Community-based day services provide a variety of regular after-school activities to children and young adults from 6 - 18 years old, and also for adults. Activities include sports, drama and arts & crafts.

Residential Services

Residential services support individuals with a range of needs, which include complex medical care, dual diagnosis and high physical support needs. Everyone has an activity schedule based on his or her interests; residents also attend the day services.

There are a total of 85 designated residential centres, of the 85 centres 10 are on campus locations at St. Mary’s Drumcar, Co. Louth, St. Raphael’s Celbridge, Co. Kildare and St. Mary of the Angels, Beaufort, Co. Kerry.

The remaining 69 are in community settings throughout Ireland.

Respite Services

Suzanne House provides year round 24 hour respite care for 25 children with complex medical needs. Our home away from home allows parents / guardians and families to take a well-deserved break. The children who attend Suzanne House are aged between 1 & 15 years old and have complex medical and nursing needs.
